“It is to believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day, and to believe in divine destiny, both the good and the evil thereof.”
(Saying of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.)
Faith is a state in which a heart accepts an ultimate truth and lives by keeping that faith in his heart. Being a Muslim I have developed a strong faith in six major pillars of Islam.
Allah: I believe in only one God, the incomparable, Who has no son or daughter, no partner and none other than Him has the right to be worshiped but Him alone. He is the almighty, the most merciful and the creator of this universe and every living and non-living organism. In Quran it has been said that:
“Say: ‘He Allah, is One! Allah, the eternally besought! He has not begotten, nor been begotten, and equal to Him there is none.” [Quran, Sincerity 112:1-4]
Angels: I believe in the existence of angels that they are created from light.
“Say: [O Muslims]: ‘We believe in Allah and that which is sent down to us, and in what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes; what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the Prophets by their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have surrendered ourselves.’” [Quran The Cow, 2:136]
Quran: Though there are total four scriptures revealed by God but Quran is the last scripture which was revealed and sent down specifically for the human generation. We need to read Quran and follow the way of divine guidance:
“This has been revealed to you (O’ Muhammad) so that you may lead mankind out of the darkness and into the light.” [Qur’an 14:1]
Messengers: As a Muslim I believe in all the messengers of God and that all of them were normal human beings honored with divine capabilities. Quran has mentioned the name of 25 messengers but there were total 124,000 messengers sent by God.
“When the sun is darkened, and when the stars fall, and when the mountains are moved … and when the records of men’s deeds are laid open, and when the sky is torn away, and when the hell is set blazing, and when the Garden is brought near, then every soul shall know what it has brought.” [Quran, The Darkening 81: 1-3, 10-14]
Judgment day: I also believe in the Day of Judgment and that this world is a test for us and one day this world will come to an end. I am being accounted for my every act and a day will come when I have to face Allah and I have to justify myself. People with good deeds will be punished and people with bad deeds will face the consequences.
“No soul dies without the permission of Allah, and at a term appointed. He who desires the reward of this world We shall give it to him; and he who desires the reward of the Hereafter We shall give it to him. We will surely reward the thankful.” [Quran, The Family of Imran 3:145]
Destiny: Finally, I also believe in Al-Qadar (pre-destination) and I believe that God has the knowledge about everything which has happened and which is going to happen.
